Creative Arts Television: Filmed and videotaped arts footage from 1950 to date.

An exploration of the visual impact of "Life" Magazine during its 36 years of continuous publication, which had just ended (1973). With David Scherman, Senior Editor of Life Magazine. Scherman was the only editor to have been with the world-famous magazine from first issue to last, and was as responsible as any other one person in shaping the charisma of the magazine. Here he discusses the use of text, layout, cover art and photographs. Examples from "Life" files illustrate his commentary and film footage shows the techniques of several "Life" journalists and photographers. Many great names from the generation in which it was one of the world's most influential magazines in the world are represented, including Margaret Bourke-White, Alfred Eisenstadt, Paul Schutzer, and Eliot Elisofon. 1973.
